Uniform Patrol Division
When a call for service is received by the Banks County Sheriff's Office, the initial responding deputy is generally one assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. Uniform Patrol deputies meet with complainants, interview suspects and victims, collect evidence, render first-aid, enforce traffic laws, and conduct motor vehicle collision investigations.

H.E.R.O Unit
Sheriff Speed and his team make school safety a priority. Banks County Sheriff’s Office is partnered with Banks County Schools to provide specialized on-site school security.
The Heightened Enforcement Response Officer (H.E.R.O.) Unit is held to SWAT standards of fitness and training. H.E.R.O. deputies are stationed as a constant presence during each school’s operation.
Crime Suppression Unit
The Crime Suppression Unit contains multiple specializations, including the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.), K9, and Warrant Service. While the Uniform Patrol Division maintains 24/7 shift coverage for patrol and emergency response, the C.S.U. concentrates specialized Deputies to address specific public safety needs.
Deputies assigned to the C.S.U. take a proactive approach in contributing to traffic safety, preventing narcotics smuggling, and apprehending wanted individuals.
