The Banks County Sheriff’s Office Internship Program provides college students with valuable, hands-on experience in the field of law enforcement. This program is designed for individuals pursuing careers in criminal justice, forensic science, or a related field, and offers a unique opportunity to observe and learn from professionals in a real-world setting.

Detention Officer
I enjoyed getting real life experiences of the field that college classes don’t always offer. It helped me build confidence and get a better idea of what working in the criminal justice field is actually like. Everyone at BSCO was very open to sharing their experiences, ideas, and testimonies which made me feel welcome.
My experience as an intern inspired me to begin my career at the BCSO. I’m grateful to be surrounded by such a dependable team. BSCO offers an amazing internship experience for those who are looking to meet some great criminal justice professionals and prepare for a career in criminal justice.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the internship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a full-time student classified as a junior, senior, or graduate student at an accredited college or university

Be pursuing a degree in criminal justice, forensic science, or a related field

Be at least 18 years of age and a United States citizen

Be in good academic standing with their college or university

Be actively enrolled during the semester or quarter in which the internship will take place

Be recommended by their college or university to participate in the program
