Public Affairs
The Public Affairs Division of the Banks County Sheriff’s Office serves as the vital link between the agency and the community. Through strategic communication, meaningful partnerships, and public education efforts, the division works to build trust, enhance transparency, and promote safety throughout Banks County.

One of the division’s core responsibilities is managing media relations, ensuring the timely release of accurate information through news releases, press statements, and direct engagement on social media platforms. These efforts keep the public informed and foster open lines of communication between the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens we serve.

Public Affairs also oversees a variety of community programs aimed at positive engagement. These include youth-focused initiatives, partnerships with local schools, support for senior citizens, and programs such as C.H.A.M.P.S. that promote leadership, responsibility, and informed decision-making among students.

By educating the public, encouraging cooperation, and maintaining strong community ties, the Public Affairs Division helps reinforce the Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing commitment to safety, service, and mutual respect.
