Application Process

All applicants must meet Banks County Sheriff’s Office’s standards for hiring eligibility. Hiring requirements include successfully passing all of the following steps:

Oral Interview with division commander
-
Entry level law enforcement examination (computer-based)
-
Score of 70% or higher for detention center positions
and 76% or higher for patrol positions -
Five (5) points will be added for being a Banks County citizen
-
Five (5) points will be added for being a Georgia POST certified
Jailer in good standing -
Ten (10) points will be added for being a Georgia POST certified
​Peace Officer in good standing

​Peace Officer’s Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) – Modified

Patrol & detention officer only

Voice Stress Analysis​

Psychological Examination

Medical Examination

To include physical ability test & drug testing

Final selection by the Sheriff & official offer of employment
